Description
In the evening of July 13, 1977 I received a call from a TV producer at WABC-TV, New York who requested that I take photographs for an exclusive TV story. The City was dark from an electrical failure. I traveled all night in a taxi cab with a reporter. The final image was the City Landscape taken from the Queens side of the East River. A glow of light rising from the east. As an additional, extraordinary element is the unique grain-pattern in the photograph which was produced as a result of a my taking the film to a lab in New Jersey which used development chemistry not typical for the processing of this film. An unforgettable night in the history of New York City.

Hello Eti. I appreciate your enjoyment of this photograph and featuring it in "Visions of The Night". This photograph, taken during the 1977 Blackout, was one of the most memorable moments during my pro photography career. The mystery of that evening, where New York City functioned in a slow-motion, dark existence cannot be duplicated. I am forever proud to have been a part of the recording of that night.
